The Safer Communities Partnership is the Crime and Disorder
Reduction Partnership for the Borough of Scarborough.
Formed in 1999
following the Crime and Disorder Act (1998), the Safer Communities
Partnership is a multi-agency partnership, comprising statutory
and voluntary organisations, and the private sector, working together
to reduce crime and disorder, and improve safety and the quality
of life of those living, working and visiting the Borough.
The Partnership has produced a Partnership Plan 2008-2011, which outlines the Partnership priorities developed from our joint strategic
intelligence assessment which is compiled using information
gathered from all the responsible authorities, wider partners and
information provided by the community.
The Partnership will also focus on issues and crime types which are committed in the greatest volume, which our communities say are of most concern to them or which are most serious in nature.
Current Partnership Priorities are:
- Safer Neighbourhoods
- Anti Social Behaviour
- Alcohol Related Violence and Disorder
- Domestic Abuse
- Road Safety
